Super Falcons, the Nigerian football crew intends to blacklist their 2025 Africa Cup of Countries qualifier in Libya as their players were gravely stuck at an air terminal short-term.
According to numerous outlets, the group was because of land in Benghazi on Sunday, yet their arrangement was diverted to Al Abraq, found roughly 230km (143 miles) away from their objective.
The Nigerian Football League (NFF) said in an explanation that the group were “totally deserted” and later locked inside the structure.
Group commander William Troost-Ekong said that the entire crew chose not to participate in the game.
He said, “As the chief along with the group we have concluded that we won’t play this game.”
William further added, “I’ve encountered stuff prior to playing ceaselessly in Africa yet this is dishonorable way of behaving.”
In the mean time, the Libyan Football Organization (LFF) said that it “was profoundly worried” about the circumstance.
LFF said that interruptions can happen because of routine air traffic conventions, and we trust that this misconception “can be settled with understanding and generosity.”
